Confidentiality Policy
AULM is accountable and responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality of its students as required by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). Our policy outlines the specific procedures AULM follows to effectively protect student privacy.
To protect students’ privacy, AULM strictly adheres to FERPA rules, which are available for review on the AULM website. All AULM employees and faculty complete annual FERPA training and acknowledge their understanding of confidentiality rules by signing a Confidentiality Notice.
Students who wish to share their student record information with a third party must complete and submit a FERPA consent form. Authorized parties can only access the information with a password assigned by the student. Consent does not permit any action to be taken on the student’s record, and students have the option to revoke their consent at any time.
Upon enrollment, each student is assigned a secure Student Identification Number (SID) and password, which are used to access AULM’s Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Portal. When contacting AULM by phone, chat, or email, students must provide their SID and another source of personally identifiable information to discuss their student record. Additional information is available in the Student Identity Verification Policy.
AULM takes reasonable measures to secure information contained in the AULM Student Information System (MSIS) and ensures that unauthorized personnel cannot modify or delete any records. Access to MSIS is granted only to employees who require it for their job function. Servers that contain the MSIS are kept in a secure environment.
The Office of the Registrar is responsible for student record information privacy. If students have any questions or concerns about FERPA or their privacy rights, they may contact the office at contact@aulm.education or dial +34 638 857 601.
