Proctoring Policy
STATEMENT OF USE FOR STUDENTS:
To fulfill their academic requirements, every student enrolled at the American University of Leadership Marbella must take proctored exams, which are exams supervised by a proctor. A proctored course will be denoted as “PA” in the curriculum description, course descriptions, and course syllabus. Completion of the required proctored exam is necessary to pass the course.
Students have the option to choose either an offline proctor at no cost or online proctoring at home, using a webcam and a reliable high-speed internet connection.
Instructions and procedures for proctored exams, also known as “The Proctor Process,” are listed below. It is highly recommended that students read and follow them carefully to prevent any confusion or complications
Process:
Students who are enrolled in online courses that require proctored exams must take their exams on the date and time specified by the university administration. They can take the exam either at one of the locations where AULM Enrollment officers are present or virtually through a Live Video Medium. Students who prefer the virtual proctoring service must arrange it beforehand with the administration.
In case a student has extenuating circumstances, they must inform their instructor in writing and provide any necessary documentation no later than 2-3 days prior to the scheduled exam (unless the instructor gives different instructions). However, the instructor may refuse to grant a make-up exam or to allow online proctoring.
If a student requires a make-up proctored exam due to extenuating circumstances, they need to coordinate with the academic director to schedule the exam on a different day.
ONLINE PROCTORING REQUIREMENTS:
To use the online proctoring service, students must have the following:
- A government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, passport, or identification card. Non-AULM student IDs or credit cards are not acceptable.
- A reliable computer running Windows 7 or higher, or Mac OS X 10 or higher, as well as a web camera, microphone, and speakers.
- A stable Internet connection and a compatible web browser.
- A secure and private testing environment, with no other people present and no posted exam materials.
- A mirror to show the testing environment.
Accommodation Statement: Students with disabilities covered under the American Disabilities Act (ADA) who need accommodations should contact the administration. Requests for accommodations should be submitted to the eLearning director within the first two weeks of the course. If the student opts to use the online proctoring service, the same accommodations given for taking courses online will apply. Once the accommodation letter is received, the eLearning director will ensure that appropriate onsite accommodations are made for the testing.
